Corporate Excel & Power BI Training in KwaZulu-Natal

Your team already has the software. What most organisations are missing is the half-day that turns a spreadsheet user into someone who can build a pivot model, clean a data extract without retyping it, or publish a report the rest of the department can rely on. We train at the level your people are actually at — not the level the course brochure assumes.

You might need this if…

  • One person in the team does all the “complicated” Excel work
  • You've rolled out Microsoft 365 or Power BI and adoption has stalled
  • Routine reports take hours that a formula or query would take seconds to do
  • New hires arrive with wildly different levels of software confidence
  • You have a skills development budget and need training that produces visible change

What we deliver

  • Excel — from core functions through to Power Query, Power Pivot and automation
  • Power BI — data modelling, DAX fundamentals, report design and publishing
  • Microsoft 365 — Word, Outlook, Teams and SharePoint for everyday productivity
  • Pre-training skills assessment so sessions are pitched correctly
  • Exercise files, reference material and post-session support delegates keep

Why it sticks

Training that changes Monday morning

Taught by practitioners

The person in front of your team builds these systems for a living. When someone asks “but what about our data?”, the answer isn't in the manual — it's from experience.

Assessed before, not assumed

A short skills assessment sets the level. Nobody sits through two hours of what they already know, and nobody gets lost in the first twenty minutes.

Your work, not sample data

Where appropriate, delegates practise on the reports and workbooks they use every day, so Monday morning looks different from Friday afternoon.

Questions

Frequently asked

Do you train on-site or online?
Both. We deliver on-site across Durban and KwaZulu-Natal, travel elsewhere in South Africa for multi-day programmes, and run virtual sessions over Microsoft Teams nationwide. Virtual works well for shorter, focused sessions; on-site tends to work better for mixed-ability groups where people need someone looking over their shoulder.
How large can a group be?
Hands-on training stops working well much beyond twelve to fifteen people per session, because everyone is working on their own machine and needs individual attention. Larger teams are better split into cohorts by skill level — which also lets us pitch each session correctly instead of averaging.
Do you assess skill levels before the training?
Yes. Before a corporate programme we run a short skills assessment so the curriculum matches the room. It's the single biggest factor in whether training lands: sessions pitched too high lose people in the first hour, and sessions pitched too low waste everyone's day.
Can the training use our own company data?
Where it's appropriate, yes — and it makes a noticeable difference to retention. Delegates practise on the reports and workbooks they actually use rather than on invented sample data. We handle any data shared with us under a confidentiality agreement and in line with POPIA, and we're happy to work from anonymised extracts instead.
Do delegates receive certificates?
Delegates receive a PsalmTech certificate of attendance along with course materials and exercise files they keep. This is practical skills training rather than a Microsoft certification programme — if formal certification is your goal, say so at the discovery call and we'll point you at the right exam path.
