Tailored Systems

Custom Software Development in Durban & KwaZulu-Natal

Off-the-shelf software assumes your business works like everyone else's. When it doesn't, you end up with spreadsheets bridging the gaps, manual re-keying between systems, and processes nobody can audit. We build the system that fits the business you actually run.

Book a Discovery Call

You might need this if…

  • Critical processes live in spreadsheets that only one person understands
  • Your systems don't talk to each other, so data gets re-captured by hand
  • A regulatory or reporting requirement is outgrowing your current tools
  • You've been quoted for a platform rebuild and want a second opinion on scope
  • An existing system works, but nobody left in the business knows how to change it

What we deliver

  • Line-of-business applications (ASP.NET Core, Angular, SQL Server)
  • Systems integration and API development
  • Regulatory and compliance reporting engines — including SARS submissions
  • Legacy system modernisation and data migration
  • Azure cloud architecture, deployment and support

Technologies & methods

A Microsoft-stack consultancy by choice, not by default.

It means integration between your database, your cloud and your reporting layer isn't three vendors pointing at each other.

Build

  • ASP.NET Core
  • C# / .NET
  • Angular
  • TypeScript
  • REST & Web APIs
  • Entity Framework

Data & platform

  • SQL Server
  • T-SQL & SSIS
  • Microsoft Azure
  • Azure DevOps & CI/CD
  • Power BI
  • Data migration

Systems integration

Getting a payroll system, an ERP and a bespoke platform to agree on the same customer record — including the ones with no API and no documentation.

Compliance reporting

Submission engines and validation rules for regulated returns, including SARS-compliant tax reporting, built so an auditor can follow the trail.

Legacy modernisation

Migrating systems nobody can safely change any more — with the data intact and the business still running while it happens.

Case study

Fundraising and SARS compliance, automated for South African NPOs

10 Bucks Only needed non-profits to stop running fundraising across spreadsheets, payment links and folders of tax certificates. We built a multi-tenant cloud platform that handles campaigns, donations and donor records in one place — and generates Section 18A certificates and SARS-compliant IT3(d) files automatically from those same records.

Questions

Frequently asked

How long does a typical project take?
It depends on scope, but most line-of-business systems reach a usable first release within two to four months, with a working version in your hands long before that. We break delivery into phases so you see software early and can change direction while it's still cheap to do so. Where a project has a hard regulatory deadline, we scope backwards from that date — and tell you up front if it isn't achievable.
Do you work with in-house IT teams?
Often, yes. We work alongside internal teams as specialists on a specific system, plug gaps in capacity, or take on the parts of a build nobody in-house has time for. Your team keeps ownership of the environment; we work to your standards, your source control and your deployment process.
What happens to the code and data if we part ways?
You own both, in full. Source code is committed to a repository you control from day one — not handed over at the end. Data lives in your tenancy and your database, and you can export it at any time in an open format. Handover includes technical documentation, environment and deployment notes, and a walkthrough with whoever picks up the work next. We don't hold code, credentials or hosting hostage, and there's no licence you have to keep paying to keep using what we built.
Do you work outside KwaZulu-Natal?
Yes. We're based in Durban and work on-site across KwaZulu-Natal, and we deliver remotely throughout South Africa. We've also delivered projects in Namibia and Zimbabwe, and we travel for workshops, discovery sessions and go-live support.
How do you price work — fixed or time and materials?
Both, used where each one fits. Once scope is defined we quote a fixed price against fixed deliverables, so you aren't carrying the estimation risk. Discovery, integration work that depends on a third party, and ongoing support are usually time and materials — because pretending to fix a price on unknowns only produces padded quotes or unhappy endings. Whichever applies, it's written down before work starts.
